Call for the selection of Italian projects for the "BioChem" IPCEI published.

A public call has been issued inviting Italian companies to submit expressions of interest for the selection of projects under the Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) "BioChem," which focuses on the strategic value chains of biotechnology-based chemistry and bio-based chemicals.

Expressions of interest must be submitted by September 24 to the certified email address (PEC): dgind.div05@pec.mimit.gov.it.

This initiative—part of the European industrial policy aimed at strengthening the Union's competitiveness, resilience, and strategic autonomy—targets highly innovative projects in the fields of research, development, and innovation. The goal is to accelerate the deployment of biotechnologies for sustainable chemistry, the decarbonization and circularity of production processes, the strengthening of European biomanufacturing, and the sustainable sourcing of bio-based raw materials, with a particular focus on SMEs, scale-ups, and skills development.
