Real Estate
Real Estate is a strategic sector for the Italian economy. The weighting of services has become more relevant than traditional construction business over recent years, ensuring a high-quality professional environment. Several factors have contributed to attracting corporate investments, that amount to €11.7 billion in 2022, of which 70% are from foreign sources.
Discover the National Real Estate offer on the portal Invest in Italy - Real Estate
our Real Estate portal features two distinct categories of investment opportunities:
- assets with an existing restructuring plan, such as historic buildings suitable to be transformed into prestigious offices or luxury hospitality facilities, resorts and hotels
- real estate development operations, i.e. properties to be transformed or bare-ownership, whose valorisation can be directed towards the most valuable and sustainable solutions
Real Estate accounts for 21% of the national GDP
Real Estate represents about ⅕ of national GDP. Construction plays a significant role but services (facility management, asset management, property management, project management) have been growing in importance, reaching the 13% of the total GDP and generating a turnover of about €36 billion, with 1 million employees.

Growing Corporate Real Estate
Corporate Real Estate has grown constantly over the past ten years and foreign investments represent the largest portion thanks to attractive yields and the opportunity to adapt the existing stock to a new type of demand for spaces, and services in compliance with new ESG standard.
In 2022, corporate real estate generated an investments volume of €11.7 billion and it has grown constantly over the past ten years, a noteworthy result considering the recovery following Covid-19 and the uncertainties due to interest rates and inflation. Foreign investments represent 70% of total investments.
